Victor Careil introduced a "super cheap" solution for using Nanite on voxel landscapes.
Victor Careil, a Developer and the creator of Voxel Plugin, a neat add-on for Unreal Engine that allows creating fully volumetric, destructible, infinite worlds, has recently shared a demo showcasing a brand-new solution for generating Nanite geometry in UE5 at runtime.
As shown in the demo, the setup allows one to generate a new mesh and create new Nanite data by moving the Height Map stamp. According to the creator, this approach will enable the use of Nanite on runtime-generated voxel landscapes and expand the capabilities of the Voxel Plugin. Furthermore, the creator commented that the setup is "super cheap" as it simply involves transcoding vertex data into the Nanite format.
