The latest version of Adobe's photogrammetry software Substance 3D Sampler released in beta features tileable textures from text prompts generation powered by Adobe's Firefly AI toolset.
A while ago, Adobe teased the first integration of its AI image creation toolset Firefly in the Substance 3D ecosystem starting with Substance 3D Sampler and Substance 3D Stager to streamline the creative process and empower 3D artists, designers, content creators, and other professionals with faster workflows. The latest version of Substance 3D Stager 3.0 already released in beta comes with background environment generation powered by Firefly, an updated Select Tool, an interactive denoiser, and over a dozen new starter materials.
As for Substance 3D Sampler, Adobe's picture-to-3D material and photogrammetry software, the public beta of Substance 3D Sampler 4.4 rolled out last week, introducing Text to Texture, an AI-powered texture imagery sourcing using a text description.

This new feature expands the options beyond importing custom or stock photography by providing a way to generate textures right within Sampler. All Text to Texture images are square and tileable with proper perspective, ready for the material-creation workflow.
Same as with 3D Stager, there are options to generate several variations of the texture, allowing users to iterate by editing the prompt. You can also browse the history of your previous prompts.
The generated textures are seamless and can fine-tuned with Sampler's tools. Other options include adding the texture to the project as a layer or to the user's Assets library or sending it to 3D Painter or other 3D editing software. Sampler automatically attaches Adobe's Content Credentials to assets generated using Firefly, indicating that they are AI-generated.
While Substance 3D Sampler 4.4 is a beta release and there's no final release date yet, you can still download the current stable version, Substance 3D Sampler 4.3.
