Thomas Geijtenbeek presents the model's latest improvement.
Thomas Geijtenbeek, the creator of the Hyfydy simulation engine and the SCONE software for predictive simulation of human and animal motion, shared the latest improvements made for his skeletal model using these tools.
In collaboration with Frans van der Helm and DirkJan Veeger, Geijtenbeek added full contact geometry to his biomechanical shoulder model to make sure the arm navigates around the torso to reach behind.
As he shared in the comment, the muscle activations are optimized with machine learning so the hand can reach the red sphere.
Earlier, Geijtenbeek demonstrated his interactions with the model by pulling it with a string.
You can find more experiments on his X/Twitter.
