Take a look at this impressive combat animation shared by 3D Animator Esteban Lenquette – a short but visually captivating piece that immediately grabs attention.

The dynamic, high-energy movements are accompanied by vibrant 2D, cartoon-style visual effects that enhance the impact of each hit and make fighting more expressive.

The setup was crafted using Blender's Grease Pencil in combination with the Brushstrokes tool. According to the artist, the characters are rendered with a simple non-photorealistic shader, while most of the visual effects were hand-drawn using Grease Pencil. The noise effect seen during the punches comes directly from the Brushstrokes tool.
