Engineer Made Ratatouille's Remy Pull Her Hair & Mirror Motions

He can also be there for moral support.

Christina Ernst, better known as She Builds Robots, demonstrated a miracle of engineering by 3D-printing Ratatouille's Remy and programming him to pull her hair. She says it is the stupidest thing she's done with her engineering degree, but I think it's the beginning of something very cool.

The rat, first made just for Halloween, can be there with her while Ernst recreates dishes from the movie, making sure her hair doesn't block her vision or become part of the recipe, for example.

Encouraged by online feedback, Ernst took a step further and made Remy mirror her hand movements using wires and an accelerometer. His little arms can only move up and down, but I believe this will turn into something more advanced with time.

Here are some other great projects by Ernst, which you can find on her Instagram.
