Game development team Orbifold Studios has recently taken to Twitter to share a much-anticipated update on Half-Life 2 RTX, a community-made RTX remaster of Valve's legendary first-person shooter developed in collaboration with NVIDIA.

With a series of Twitter posts, the team offered a glimpse at some of the new props and 3D materials they've prepared for the upcoming remaster since January's CES 2024 event, where Orbifold and NVIDIA showcased the new version of Half-Life 2's Ravenholm in an official gameplay trailer. As one would expect, the newly made assets boast exceptional quality, in line with the remaster's revamped lighting and shadow effects demonstrated previously.

And here are the assets shared by the team, you can check out more by visiting Half-Life 2 RTX's official Twitter page:

And here's the aforementioned trailer shared by the devs back in January:

Originally announced in August 2023, Half-Life 2 RTX utilizes various advanced technologies from NVIDIA, including full ray tracing, NVIDIA DLSS 3, NVIDIA Reflex, and RTX IO, to offer a gaming experience specifically designed for GeForce RTX users.

The development team also heavily relies on RTX Remix, a modding platform that enables developers to enhance visuals in classic games by capturing game assets, improving materials with AI tools, and swiftly implementing RTX with ray tracing and DLSS.
