Hollow Knight: Silksong is Still in Development And Will Launch... Eventually

While the "Upcoming Releases" category is packed with highly-anticipated games – ranging from confirmed projects like GTA VI to complete mysteries like The Elder Scrolls VI – perhaps the most memetic of them all is the trinity comprising Hollow Knight: Silksong, a PC version of Bloodborne, and Half-Life 3.

But while HL3 has been absent for so long that few even care anymore, and Miyazaki supposedly acts like a dog in the manger when it comes to Bloodborne, Silksong still holds a chance of being launched someday – a possibility recently reaffirmed by Matthew Griffin, the game's PR and Marketing Director.

In response to a tweet from a desperate Hollow Knight fan disappointed by the recent "Hollow Knight ARG" turning out to be a nothingburger, Griffin confirmed that the game has not been abandoned and is still in development, stating that Silksong "is real, progressing, and will release." While such an update – a single line of text shared in a tweet reply, not even from the game's official Twitter page – would likely have been seen as an insult for any other game, this is Silksong we're talking about, so naturally, even this tiny revelation was met with enthusiasm, with the majority of fans giving Team Cherry the benefit of the doubt and letting them cook.

To underscore the significance of Griffin's words, consider that the last thing resembling an update came seven months ago, when Graig, a regular on the game's Discord server, stated that while the original 2023 release window had been missed, the game was not in development hell. Although this information didn't even come from a member of Team Cherry, it still managed to spark hope among the fanbase, which at that point had grown so desperate, they threatened to "sacrifice" the entirety of r/Silksong on Reddit if Team Cherry failed to provide any news about the highly-anticipated sequel.
