Industrial Light & Magic Shows How Tornado VFX Were Done for Twisters

In a new Behind the Magic showcase, Industrial Light & Magic demonstrates how it worked on the VFX for Twisters, a 2024 disaster film featuring huge tornadoes traversing the world.

Twisters is a standalone sequel to Twister (1996), directed by Lee Isaac Chung and starring Daisy Edgar-Jones, Glen Powell, Anthony Ramos, Brandon Perea, Maura Tierney, and Sasha Lane. It tells the story of storm chasers who investigate a tornado outbreak in Oklahoma.

ILM showed its mastery in the movie's beautiful realistic weather effects and its natural antagonist. The picture is gloomy and scary thanks to the VFX company's outstanding talent.
