Photorealistic Snow-Covered Winter Forest Set Up in Unreal Engine 5

The RealBiomes team has showcased the capabilities of its 3D environment asset pack with a breathtaking demo.

RealBiomes, a team of developers widely known for producing high-quality 3D environment asset packs for Unreal Engine 5, has recently showcased the capabilities of the Next-Gen 2.0 version of its Scots Pine Forest environment with a gorgeous short cinematic.

In case you missed it, the Next-Gen 2.0 update was shipped by the team back in late November 2023. Enhancing the team's existing environment packs, the upgrade added cinematic-level foliage for games, customizable seasons, foliage interactivity, and compatibility with the latest Unreal Engine 5.3.

To demonstrate the update in action, the team has set up a photorealistic 3D snow-covered winter forest scene, describing the project as "just one of many ways you can transform our environments with the click of a button."

For those unfamiliar, Scots Pine Forest is one of the team's highly realistic environment packs for UE5 inspired by North European landscapes. Focusing on Nanite, Lumen, and VSM, the pack fully utilizes the latest and greatest technology in Unreal Engine 5.3 and comes with fully 3D-scan-based assets with up to 8K textures, LODs, and Collision complete with various pre-defined sub-biomes to help you create incredible forest diversity.
