3D Artist rayarxios showcased this atmospheric and grim pixelated setup made with Unity, sharing some technical details of its creation.
The artist has been experimenting with Shader Graph, working on a palette-based shader relying on various tutorials and trial and error. While progress is coming along, they are currently facing a challenge in achieving pixel-perfect, crisp shadows that function properly within URP. The artist has been exploring ways to refine Unity's shadows, which appear overly smoothed for the pixelated style, likely due to built-in filtering. Now, the creator is experimenting with a method to "snap" the filtered shadows to the texture pixels using Shader Graph to achieve a sharper look.
