Ubisoft Is Reportedly Working on Four More Assassin's Creed Titles

The games are in a very early phase, so don't expect them any time soon.

If you thought Ubisoft working hard on updates for Assassin’s Creed and the five officially announced titles is the extent of its interest in the franchise, you are apparently mistaken, as Insider Gaming's sources claim the studio has four more games in store.

Three of them are in the conceptual and prototype phase, and Project Nexus 2 – the sequel to the yet-to-be-announced VR title – is already being discussed.

The six Assassin’s Creed titles that we've already heard about are Mirage, Codename Red, Codename Hexe, Codename Jade, the multiplayer game Project Invictus, and Project Nexus, which is expected to be officially announced at E3 later this year.

Apart from Nexus 2, Ubisoft is allegedly working on projects codenamed Nebula, Raid, and Echoes, developed by different studios.

Project Nebula is in the works at Ubisoft Sofia and will show us three different settings: India, Aztec Empire, and the Mediterranean.

Project Raid is being developed by Ubisoft Chengdu. It is a free-to-play co-op PvE title with characters from the Assassin’s Creed universe.

Project Echoes was pitched by Ubisoft Annecy, a studio behind some other Assassin’s Creed games, Splinter Cell, and The Division 2. It is a multiplayer title that uses Ubisoft Scalar, Ubisoft's cloud technology.

Insider Gaming's sources say that the games in the series will be released annually, "with major entries being significantly different from the last". Assassin’s Creed Mirage is scheduled to launch around August of this year, followed by Assassin’s Creed Nexus. Codename Red is scheduled for 2024, while Assassin’s Creed Invictus should be out in 2025, and Assassin’s Creed Hexe in 2026. The dates for the prototypes are unclear yet, but considering their early stages now, don't expect to see them soon.
