Valve Breaks Its Own Rules with Deadlock

Talk about nepo babies.

After months of rumors and leaks, Valve finally officially announced its hero-based shooter Deadlock and got it a Steam page. Despite that, the game is still under the veil of secrecy, not offering much information or even any images.

Not everyone was ready to let this fact be. Game developer and X/Twitter user 3D Glyptics noticed a very important detail: Valve violates its own Steam rules, which state that every game must have at least 5 screenshots, and Deadlock has none.

"I am not laughing and this is not a joke – Valve Software is actively violating their own rules – store page submissions require a minimum of 5 screenshots – review process has been intentionally bypassed – I am not laughing," they said (thanks, PC Gamer).

I'm sure 3D Glyptics was, in fact, laughing, but if this makes Valve finally add some screenshots (so I don't have to take them myself or steal from others), I'm here for this little riot.

Valve

If you were wondering, Steam documentation does specify the number of images, so yes, Valve is technically going against the rules. While it owns the platform and can theoretically do whatever, it sets a poor example – everybody should be equal before the law.

In March, Valve was caught adding a "winner of over 100 awards" sticker to The Orange Box, which is against its rules as there should be no review scores, award names, and discount text, but it soon removed it, so I expect the Deadlock situation will be no different and we'll see some screenshots soon.
