An Artist Pushes Blender to Its Limits With These Painterly 3D Illustrations

Today, let's have a look at some incredible hand-painted animations from 3D Artist Hewa.

Hewa, a Japanese 3D/CG Artist, continues his "Day-to-day learning" series with one more fantastic non-photorealistic 3D illustration, capable of deceiving the eye as a 2D painting at first glance. For those unfamiliar, Hewa specializes primarily in crafting stunning 3D animations with a hand-painted appearance that blurs the line between 2D and 3D, depending on the frame.

The latest addition to this ongoing "Day-to-day learning" series, attached above, depicts a pickled old man taking a nap on a table. True to his style, Hewa used Blender to create this 3D animation. Additionally, the artist has included a Viewport shot, proving that it is indeed 3D:
