Artist Creates Real-Time Fire VFX in Blender by Simply Painting

A new work by Goropeko.

Creating VFX has never looked as easy as artist Goropeko makes it in their works. This time, they demonstrated flames surrounding a floating gem, but the most interesting part of the project is that Goropeko simply paints over a flat surface, and the animated effect changes based on the image.

This blue fire was made using the same technique as the master demonstrated in their previous pixelated flame VFX. You can find the nodes and the tutorial there as well.

The best part is that you don't need any plug-ins to make it work: just Blender and your creativity are enough, according to the creator.
