Auto Character System 3 for Modo Is Now Available

The stable version overhauls the rigging assets, adds Python 3 support, improves modules, and more.

Auto Character System 3 is now fully available after 4 years of development. The auto-rigging tool for Modo overhauls all the rigging assets: the joint modules palette was consolidated and simplified and there are 3 basic types of joint: Standard (former FK joint), Aim At, and Advanced.

The update also added many properties to modules. For example, a rigid type of joint is no longer a separate asset and can be achieved by disabling deformation in joint module properties.

Another great change is that the Rig Clay support has been fine-tuned, and the missing regions have been added to rig assets.

Additionally, all modules now have stretching capabilities, and there are more of them: the developer Lukasz Pazera added an Eyes module, which includes a setup for eyeballs and eyelids. The new Muscle Joint module has 2 attachment points and automatically stretches between head and tail points.

Moreover, limb modules can include automatic holder joints to improve deformations. A holder joint can be added to hip/shoulder, knee/elbow and ankle/wrist.

Other improvements include a new advanced biped rig asset, space switching support added to more modules, and Python 3 support.

Auto Character System 3.0 is available for Modo 14.2+ and can be purchased for $99 (Personal license) or $299 (Studio license).
