The artwork is a part of a series called A Hero Emerges. This portrait was created based on Marvel's Ben Grimm, a.k.a. The Thing concept. The artist brought photorealistic graphic fidelity to the character's portrait, accurately capturing his bold and decisive nature.
Marcus Whinney shared that it took him about 1.5 hours of work in ZBrush and 38 minutes in Photoshop. The final version of the portrait:
