Complex Bottled Water Shader Made for an Anime-Style 3D Animation

CGDASH continues to refine his craft, presenting a new outstanding piece.

Virendra "CGDASH" Kumar, a brilliant NPR Artist and master of making 3D artworks look like scenes from anime, continues to refine his craft, presenting a new astonishing animation featuring a complex water-in-the-bottle shader.

Succinctly describing the shader as "hard AF", the artist demonstrated both the final result and the working process behind the sequence, offering a sneak peek at the node graph and showing how the character model looks without the textures and outlines. True to form, the creator utilized Blender to bring his latest masterpiece to life.

Later today, CGDASH plans to conduct a live session on YouTube and describe the production pipeline behind this animation in more detail. So, if you're interested in how the magic is made, we highly encourage you to follow the artist on YouTube and check out his Twitter page.

Notably, this is not the first time CGDASH has impressed us with his water shaders. Just recently, the creator presented an awesome stylized water shader that allows you to set up beautiful flowing water in Blender, complete with stylized ripples and light reflections. You can download the shader for free by clicking this link.

And here are some of the other artists' attempts at the liquid-in-a-bottle effect:
