Naming Black Cats 'Flow' Becomes Trend After Animated Movie's Success

It is said black cats are the least popular in animal shelters because superstitious people refuse to take them home. Thankfully, it seems this might change thanks to Flow, a Blender-made animated movie about a black cat, which has won an Oscar recently.

As reported by Metrópoles, Flow has become associated with all black cats with yellow eyes. It started with a post offering 2 'Flow-type' cats for adoption. After, people noted that more and more cat owners give their pets this name.

"Only today I saw three people calling black kittens ‘Flow,’ and now I can’t think any differently. From now on, every time I see a black kitten, I’ll automatically think, ‘Oh, look, a little Flow,’" one user said (machine-translated.)

"Now, black cats are Flow cats," added another. "I want a Flow cat."

Adoption centers noticed the 'change of flow' for black cats, which are commonly associated with bad luck. The Ampara Animal Institute, for example, said that the film is "changing the reality" of these animals.
