New Version of Blender Add-On Ucupaint Allows for Uniform Scale

ucupumar's free Blender add-on has been upgraded to the 2.1.2 version.

A free add-on for Blender for layer texture management created by 3D artist known as ucupumar has been upgraded to 2.1.2 version.

The new version fixes technical bugs and adds new functions to the tool. The major novelty is that Ucupaint now allows for uniform vector scaling. The demo above shows how it works. The upgrade also added a preference option to turn auto UDIM detection on or off. Another new feature is that a warning pop-up will appear when trying to delete or merge an unsaved layer or mask. Also, a single option confirmation pop-up to move a layer outside a group was eliminated.

Apart from this, the upgrade includes numerous bug fixes. For instance, you can copy a layer with its parameters in the new version. Issues such as missing UI after using image alpha as a mask and missing icons appearing randomly were fixed as well.

Another artist, known as Passivestar, who also contributed to the creation of Ucupaint's upgraded version, showcased how you can height-blend PBR texture sets with Ucupaint using a Compare Height mode:

Ucupaint, a free Blender add-on that allows artists to manage texture layers for Eevee and Cycles renderer, was first released in 2022. In July, it received the latest major update to version 2.0, allowing its users to take advantage of new Blender 4.2 features.
