Photogrammetry is easier with the app by Epic Games and Capturing Reality.
Epic Games and Capturing Reality have released RealityScan 1.4, introducing several handy features to the photogrammetry app. The program allows you to create high-fidelity 3D models from scans made with a phone, both iOS- and Android-based. With the new changes, it's even easier to do.
Version 1.4 introduces a better cropping experience so you can achieve precise control over the processing volume. It means that your 3D model will only contain the parts of the scan area that you need and you'll be able to quickly switch between 2D views of your subject and adjust the boundary lines.
Moreover, RealityScan now automatically filters out unwanted artifacts like floating triangles, making your mesh cleaner and nicer to look at. UVs have also been improved, the app now lays out the UV maps more uniformly, so visual results for texture rendering and lighting in 3D tools are better.
The developers also added the ability to set categories and tags for the models before sharing them on Sketchfab. Additionally, processing now needs at least 20 photos to prevent accidental submissions that might not succeed.
