Runway Now Lets You Animate Several Areas in Image

The Multi Motion Brush can liven up your static photos.

Runway has introduced the Multi Motion Brush in Gen-2, its multimodal AI system that generates videos using text, images, and video clips. The tool is a logical successor to November's update bringing a brush that can animate elements in static images. This time, Multi Motion works on several objects.

As you see in the video above, you can assign different animations to multiple areas of the picture with a few colorful strokes. For example, you may choose to make the waves ebb and flow peacefully, while the clouds move lazily in the sky. The motion looks surprisingly nice for such a simple-to-use feature.

This will be great for animating explosions, for example. Although Gen-2 can generate some for you with its text-to-video option, without extra tools, as you can see in this article.

Runway seems to be working diligently on its software, adding cool new features every couple of months. In December, the company announced its partnership with the creative content library Getty Images so they could release a new AI video model for enterprise customers.

Runway's licenses start at $12, but you can also use its tools for free with limitations. Try it out here and join our 80 Level Talent platform and our Telegram channel, follow us on InstagramTwitter, and LinkedIn, where we share breakdowns, the latest news, awesome artworks, and more.
