Freelance 3D Artist Leo Torres, the author of the amazing Mossy Indoor Terrarium project, has shared a short tutorial that explains how to set up a realistic displaced water ripple effect.
In this tutorial, the artist spoke about using Dynamic Paint and a particle system in Blender, exporting the files to Unreal Engine 5 using Alembic Geometry Cache, shared some tips and tricks for aspiring Environment Artists, and more. "I was going to do a single massive breakdown of those rain garden scenes in UE5, but it would be like, two hours long, so I’m instead going to be breaking them up into little segments like these," commented Leo.
