An Artist Makes Tasty-Looking 3D Food That Looks Like 2D Drawings

Check out mouth-watering artworks made by 3D Artist Rumi using Blender.

If you're a frequent visitor to our website, you probably already know about our deep devotion to delectable digital dishes that can effortlessly break the fourth wall by translating succulent smells and tantalizing tastes through the screen, all thanks to the immense talent of their creators.

One such creator is 3D Artist Rumi, who has been busy for the past few days cooking a mouth-watering stylized 3D Croque Madame sandwich, featuring rich and luscious melting cheese, juicy tomatoes, and a savory fried egg among its ingredients. Set up in Blender, the model has a distinctive NPR visual style, giving it the appearance of a 2D drawing when static. At the moment, the project is still WIP, with Rumi regularly sharing updates on its progression over on Twitter:

Notably, this is far from the first food-themed project created by Rumi. Earlier, the artist also showcased a variety of impressive restaurant dioramas, edibles, and restaurant dioramas that look like edibles – all made in 3D using Blender. We highly encourage you to visit Rumi's Twitter page to see more of their outstanding masterpieces.

And if you'd like to learn more about cooking digital food in Blender, we also recommend checking out our interview with Rabia Türkoğlu, who recently joined us to tell how her mouth-watering dishes were created using Blender and its Grease Pencil tool and share her tips on how to set up an anime-like smoke effect and outlines.
