All the shapes were sculpted by hand using ZBrush and Maya.
Take a look at this impressive, though slightly eerie, 3D facial rig of an elderly woman, showcased recently by Facial Modeler and Blendshape Artist Lorin Le Roux Cornevin. Created for the artist's upcoming project, currently WIP, the character model itself is based on a scan, with Lorin being responsible for the topology, facial rigging, and LookDev. To sculpt the shapes, Maya and ZBrush were the main tools, while Mari and Arnold were also used to handle additional tasks. Lorin mentioned that the blendshapes took nearly two months to set up, alongside other ongoing experiments.

Right now, Lorin is looking for new opportunities, so if your project requires the input of a talented sculptor of digital faces, be sure to contact the artist on ArtStation and LinkedIn.
