Delicious French Fries 3D Animation Cooked With Substance 3D & Houdini

Gahui Han and Fabian Strube presented a mouth-watering collaborative piece.

Take a look at this highly realistic 3D animation depicting delectable golden french fries raining down from the skies into a metallic basket, created by Strube Digital, a team of two creators comprising Senior 3D Artist Gahui Han, responsible for modeling the asset, and 3D Art Lead Fabian Strube, who handled the simulation tasks.

According to the creators, this delicious-looking artwork was set up using Maya and ZBrush for modeling, Substance 3D Painter for texturing, Houdini for simulation, and Redshift for rendering.

What's more, the model is commercially available and can be purchased via Strube Digital's CGTrader page. The asset comes with five French fry variations and a basket with 8K Diffuse, Roughness, SSS, Displacement, Opacity, and Normal Maps, organized non-overlapping UVs, and a decent topology that supports further editing.
