The author leveraged ZBrush and Substance 3D Painter to translate the beloved characters into the 3D realm.
Marcel Nilo, a 3D Character Artist known for creating stylized and realistic models, has recently unveiled a new character project inspired by The Mandalorian, a space-western TV series set in the Star Wars universe.
The artist's latest creation imagines the show's titular character, Din Djarin, as a highly detailed 3D figurine, complete with his iconic armor, blasters, and, of course, Din Grogu, also known as Baby Yoda. According to the creator, the character was modeled and sculpted using Maya and ZBrush, textured in Substance 3D Painter, and rendered with Marmoset Toolbag.
"As a personal promise, I post at least one new model per year doesn't matter what is going on, I have to post it. Well, for this year of 24, the promise is already paid," commented the author. "Mando and Grogu, such nice characters, full of armor and accessories the way I like so I'm proud of it."
Previously, Marcel also offered a realistic take on Treasure Planet's Jim Hawkins, showcased a 3D recreation of a Chocobo from Studio Ghibli's Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind, presented a great sculpt of X-Men's Wolverine, and more.
