Bryan Soegondo showcased a new beautiful artwork.
Bryan Soegondo, a talented 3D Character Artist focusing on realistic portraits, showcased a new artwork, which is a 3D representation of a legendary actress Marylin Monroe in her "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes" gold dress designed by William Travilla.
The artist shared that he had this project in mind for a long time since he created the 3D portrait of another famous actress, Audrey Hepburn, two years ago. According to the artist, the new work is a "companion" piece to Audrey Hepburn's portrait.
The artist also described the workflow. The sculpting was completed in ZBrush, texturing was done in Mari, the hair was groomed using XGen, and rendering was completed in Arnold for Maya. The work was composited in Nuke and Photoshop.
The dress was simmed in Marvelous Designer and then retopologized using the Retopo Planes add-on for Blender. For the dress, the artist used procedural shaders.
