Breaking Bad Fan Envisions a Trailer For a Fictional BrBa Game

The Last Batch, a jaw-dropping cinematic from Piotr Tatar, exemplifies why the Breaking Bad fanbase is so adored.

Once again showcasing the creative prowess of the Breaking Bad fandom, Senior Generalist and Environment Artist Piotr Tatar has unveiled "The Last Batch," a stunning cinematic masterpiece imagining a trailer for a fictional game set in Vince Gilligan's and Peter Gould's universe.

Created in the artist's spare time as a personal project, the trailer's setting is based on the actual To'Hajiilee Reservation seen in the show, methiculously recreated in 3D via photogrammetry. "A few years ago, I decided to visit New Mexico, where I explored the desert location used in the TV show. I did drone photogrammetry and scanned the entire valley over multiple days," commented Piotr.

To set up the environment, the RV, and the gigantic crystals, Piotr employed a variety of software, including 3ds Max, ZBrush, Substance 3D Painter, RealityCapture, Marvelous Designer, Nuke, RizomUV, Houdini, and EmberGen. The final trailer was rendered with Maxon's Redshift, and the creator noted that he has already begun transferring the demo to Unreal Engine to showcase potential gameplay.

"Big thank you to Orion Terry for providing amazing hero FX simulations, Michal Bończyk for RV interior collaboration, Bartosz Suchy for bringing Sound FX to the next level, and Jarek Dawidziuk for jumping in quickly and helping finish one of the aerial shots in terms of FX destructions," the author adds.

We're already in talks with Piotr about a thorough breakdown of The Last Batch, so stay tuned. In the meantime, you can find out more about the project by visiting the creator's ArtStation page.
