Reallusion Launches iClone 7.9

Reallusion launched iClone 7.9, a new free update to the team's real-time character animation toolkit. The newest release is all about facial animation: new lip-sync system AccuLips, and Expression Plus, plus a new set of scan-based facial blendshapes. The release is also said to boost facial motion capture via new iPhones.

The updated version supports hairstyles and facial hair generated with the new Smart Hair system in Character Creator 3.4.

As for AccuLips, it is a new lip-sync technology for smoother and more accurate results. The new tech is said to work with audio recordings of speech to automatically generate both facial animation and a written transcript. These can be then be edited manually for better results.

The team noted that the tech is based on a 200,000-word dictionary (only English for now). Users can customize tit and add new words with corresponding mouth shapes.
