Xbox Showcase to Not Feature "Full CG Trailers" for First-Party Games

Xbox also shared that not all the titles showcased at the event will be released within a 12-month timeframe.

The VP of Xbox Games Marketing at Microsoft, Aaron Greenberg, has recently taken to Twitter to answer players' questions, revealing some details about the upcoming Xbox Games Showcase.

Greenberg confirmed that Microsoft won't be presenting CGI trailers for their games. Instead, it will showcase either gameplay footage, in-engine footage, or a blend of gameplay and in-game cinematics. Furthermore, all cutscenes will be clearly labeled to ensure players are aware of the content they are about to see.

It's worth noting that Greenberg was talking about Xbox's first-party titles, so there is a possibility that projects from third-party developers will still feature CGI trailers.

During the 2022 event, Xbox made a pledge that nearly all the games showcased would be launched within a 12-month timeframe. However, it turned out that only a handful of games were actually released within that window.

In light of this, the company seems to have become more cautious in making promises as Greenberg mentioned that the upcoming presentation will not solely feature games set to release in the next 12 months. This likely applies to both Microsoft's own releases and those from their partners.

Additionally, Greenberg assured fans that there will be no trailers for movies or TV shows during the presentation, so, fans should not anticipate a teaser for the second season of Halo.

The Xbox Games Showcase will take place on June 11, followed immediately by the Starfield Direct event.
