Adobe Releases Photoshop 24.0

Adobe has released a new updated version of its image-editing and digital painting software – Photoshop 24.0. This latest version introduces a new delete and fill feature, a couple of new collaboration features, and a new image restoration feature as well as adds the Substance Photoshop plugin and brings improvements to several existing features.

With the latest release, users will now be able to easily remove objects from images using the Delete and Fill Selection feature – to remove an object, you'll just have to click on an object you'd like to delete and press [Shift] + [Delete] to let Photoshop remove your selection. After that, Photoshop will instantly fill the gap with pixels sampled from the surrounding areas of the image.

The Object Selection tool has also been improved – now, it has better detecting capabilities being able to auto-select a wide range of content in images including sky, water, natural ground, plants, and architecture.

The new features also include two new collaboration features: Invite to edit and Share to preview.

The Invite to edit feature allows users to share a link to their Photoshop cloud document with as many collaborators as they want as well as manage access to it. Currently, this feature only allows for asynchronous editing which means that each collaborator can edit a shared cloud document, one at a time.

The Share for review feature, which is, for now, only available in Beta, gives users the ability to generate a web version of their local or cloud documents and share the document link with other users to collect feedback. Using this feature, you can also control whether the link is public or limited to a few collaborators.

Another new feature that version 24.0 brings is the new Photo Restoration Neural Filter. The new AI-based feature (also currently in Beta) automatically removes artifacts like creases or scratches from images which allows you to restore and enhance your old photos.

In addition, the new version brings the Substance Photoshop plugin – an extension that allows Photoshop users to access materials from Substance 3D. The materials are imported in .sbsar format and can be edited inside Photoshop.
