Nintendo Switch Sales Topped 111 Million

Overall, 3.43 million Switch consoles were sold last quarter.

In its financial report for the April-June period, Nintendo shared that it had sold over 111 million Switch consoles worldwide. Overall, it sold 3.43 million Switch hardware, which was lower compared to last year’s Q2 with 4.45 million units. Nintendo says this is because of the semiconductor shortage, which affected the production of the console. The company expects the situation to improve from late summer towards autumn, so it aims to sell 21 million Switch units from now until March 2023.

Additionally, 41.4 million software were sold during that period, which is 8.6% lower than last year.

The operating profit fell 15% to 101.6 billion yen ($763 million), while 166.7 billion yen ($1.2 billion) was raised from ordinary profit.

Nintendo also revealed that various new Switch games sold big numbers throughout the last quarter. Nintendo Switch Sports sold 4.84 million units, while Mario Strikers: Battle League recorded 1.91 million sold copies.

The 10 best-selling first-party Switch titles are:
