No Man's Sky Celebrates Its 7th Anniversary, Teases a New Update

Dubbed Echoes, the new release will be the 24th free update to the game.

No Man's Sky, a space-themed sci-fi action-adventure survival game developed and published by Hello Games, has recently celebrated its seventh anniversary.

Keeping with their tradition, the team has released a brief celebratory trailer to mark the occasion, showcasing the game's past updates and revealing the upcoming new update. Named Echoes, this new release will be the 24th free update for the game and will be provided for free to the existing players.

As always, Sean Murray, the Director of Hello Games, has accompanied this announcement with a cryptic tweet that stands as the sole source of information about the upcoming release:

To many, No Man's Sky was the title that showed other developers that it is perfectly fine to release half-baked games and continue working on them post-launch. When initially released, No Man's Sky was riddled with bugs that were difficult to comprehend. Many of the features that had been promised were either removed or never implemented, multiplayer was absent, peculiar animal behaviors like walking upside-down were observed, and so forth.

Nonetheless, the contentious launch did not deter Hello Games, as they remained dedicated to delivering the game they had initially promised. Fast forward seven years and No Man's Sky has exceeded all expectations, becoming something greater than anyone could have envisioned.
