Radeon Super Resolution & FidelityFX Super Resolution 2.0 Announced

AMD presented the technologies that will boost frame rates.

If you enjoy Steam Deck's FidelityFX Super Resolution, you will be happy to hear that the technology is coming to graphic cards. AMD announced Radeon Super Resolution – it's in-driver FidelityFX Super Resolution for games where FSR is not present. The technology is available for AMD RX 5000 Series graphic cards or newer, and you can get it with the AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition driver.

FidelityFX Super Resolution is also getting upgraded, and its version 2.0 is designed to enhance image quality, even on competitors’ graphics chips.

"FSR 2.0’s temporal upscaling uses previous frame color, depth and motion vectors in the rendering pipeline to create very high-quality upscaled output with optimized anti-aliasing across all image quality presets and output resolutions," AMD software product management director Glen Matthews told The Verge.

AMD promised to share more information about the technology at the 2022 Game Developers Conference, so stay tuned. Meanwhile, the company says Deathloop can run at nearly twice the framerate at maximum settings, you can see the difference in the video.

FSR 2.0 is promised to be released in Q2 2022. While you're waiting, learn more about RSR and FSR 2.0 and don't forget to join our new Reddit pageour new Telegram channel, follow us on Instagram and Twitter, where we are sharing breakdowns, the latest news, awesome artworks, and more.
