Rockstar Acquires Dhruva Interactive

Starbreeze has sold the Indian studio for $7.9m. The team will be contributing to different Rockstar games alongside Rockstar India.

According to the latest press release, Rockstar Games has acquired Indian game developer and game art production studio Dhruva Interactive, headquartered in Bangalore. The company previously belonged to Starbreeze AB.

Dhruva Interactive was founded in 1997 by Rajesh Rao. It became one of the leading studios in the country with a staff of 300 developers specializing in art and design. Over the years the company contributed to the development of many games, including Forza Horizon 4, Days Gone, Quantum Break, Prey 2, Sea of Thieves, and many, many others.

After the acquisition, the company will continue to work on existing client projects. The team will operate as part of Rockstar India ‘alongside 500 talented team members already working in Bangalore on Rockstar’s ground-breaking games’.
