According to the latest reports, Supermassive Games, the developer behind renowned titles like Until Dawn, The Quarry, The Dark Pictures Anthology, and others, is going to downsize approximately 90 employees, which is around 25-30% of its staff.

On February 26, the studio came forward with a statement and announced the current reorganization the company is facing, saying that they tried their best to avoid such situations and adding that "this is not a decision that's been taken lightly."

"It's no secret that the games industry is currently facing significant challenges, and unfortunately we aren't immune to this," reads the statement. "After much deliberation and with deep regret, we are therefore undertaking a reorganization of Supermassive Games. As a result, we are entering into a period of consultation, which we anticipate will result in the loss of some of our colleagues."

Even though the studio hasn't disclosed the number of people, who are about to be let go, Jason Schreier from Bloomberg initially reported that Supermassive had notified 150 employees that they were at risk of losing their jobs, with 90 people being cut off in the near future.

The studio currently has over 300 employees, so this move would result in a reduction of around 25-30% of its workforce, as we mentioned above.

Recently, the developer behind EVERYWHERE and MindsEye, Build A Rocket Boy, was also hit with a wave of layoffs.
