Every artist with some experience has a weird story to tell, and X/Twitter user Sylessae decided to collect them in one "WTF freelance artist moment" thread. Thousands of creators shared their bizarre interactions with all kinds of people, and we've brought you some of the most interesting.

Surprisingly (or not), we found 2 mentions of the Yandere Simulator developer, and if you don't know his story... You're blessed, but it's worth learning about.

Answering the question of the strangest moment in their career, one artist said it was when the Yandere guy wanted them to draw him "depressed as f*ck for a video to guilt trip his fans."

That's not the only game story in the thread. The user "allegedly, tart" said they were laid off by the League of Legends and VALORANT developer Riot Games and then approached by an outsourcing company hours later "to do skins for League of Legends for a flat rate per skin."

Graphic designer uberchain claims she accidentally helped boost the production of Overwatch 3D spicy content "by getting public asset ports legally whitelisted in 2016."

Another insane story comes from Vladislav Zharkov, who was asked to make ads for a CS:GO gambling website. The client then said his death animations looked "overly dramatic" and sent "uncensored combat footage of someone getting shot in the head, 'for reference.'"

As you can see, there are all kinds of crazy individuals out there. Artists get rejected for refusing to draw explicit pictures, taking longer than AI generators, or even for not being Asian. Here are some of our favorite picks:
