Check Out a UE5-Made GTA III Remake Concept Made by a Fan

Flames Per Second imagines what the Definitive Edition should have looked like.

In light of Jack Thompson, an infamous anti-GTA activist who tried to sue Rockstar numerous times in the 2000s, seemingly switching sides, let's pay our respects to the legendary Grand Theft Auto series by checking out an incredible concept shared recently by the Flames Per Second YouTube channel.

Powered by Unreal Engine 5, Flames Per Second's project imagines how Grand Theft Auto III, a classic installment in the series released back in 2001, could have looked had it been shipped today, boasting current-gen graphics, enhanced models, and better lighting.

According to the author, known only as INTER, they didn't start from scratch but instead utilized several GTA 5 mods, such as Liberty City Remix, Claude Speed Mod, 8-Ball Mod, and Project FromThePast (GTA III Car Pack). These mods provided the foundation for the recreation, with car, character, and buildings models being adapted to UE5 to bring the concept to life. INTER further noted that their project depicts what the unsuccessful 2021 release, Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition, should have looked like.
