This Lighting Add-On for Blender Will Soon Get a Massive Update

Casey Sheep has teased an upcoming lighting plug-in for Blender Cycles.

Digital Artist and Asset Creator Casey Sheep, who earlier this month impressed us with the fantastic sci-fi-themed and procedural tiles shaders, has taken to Twitter once more to tease an impending release of Better Lighting 2.0, a leveled-up version of the artist's lighting add-on for Blender created two years ago.

According to Casey, Better Lighting is a lighting shader based on Blender Cycles' Light node. With it, users can set up dynamic lighting effects with just a single lamp and achieve things that many default lighting setups can't. With the latest demo, the creator announced that the work on the add-on continues, planning to provide more updates in the near future.

In the meantime, we also recommend checking out Casey's RealWater, a great tool for Blender Cycles that allows you to quickly and easily set up digital water. With this add-on, all you need to do is choose the location where you want to place the water and select the shader you want, and it will be instantly added to your scene. The effect can then be tweaked and customized via a shader editor to get the exact result you require.
